Project Information
This is my first project post on Lumber Jocks. It's a miniature butcher's block that I made for a friend as a house-warming gift, and is fashioned after what you might see in a butcher's shop. It's made of solid oak and measures 10"x10"x8.5". The butcher's knife that goes along with it measures only 6".
The pictures pretty much tell the whole tale. Made by laminating milled oak 2×2s together, turning some feet on the lathe, attaching some scrap wood to the side to hold the knife, and voila. Also, I tried to give the wood an aged look by roughing it up a little. Finished it off with a combination of carnauba wax and bees wax, so it smells a little sweet.
