Project Information

Did a little experimenting with these two wall plaques.
The first one is Native pine and quite a hard wood.
The second one is one of the many Banksia species from here.
Both plaques measure approx 12in X 5in and about 3/4in thick. I made a separate tenon and glued it onto the back to enable turning the designs, then knocked the tenon off and reset it to do the other part of the pattern.
Burnt with a butane torch.

A nice wall piece Bob, pleased you were able to keep the bark, did you have to CA to keep it attached?

PeteG, I did use a bit of CA on one end of the bark. Normally it stays attached.

Hey Bob, I call these "Wackafingers", cause every time that I try and turn something like this, I get my fingers wacked. Yours are very nice, kinda reminds me of a large Plinth Block.

Ships are safe in harbor. But that's not what ships are for.
