Project Information
I retired last Friday after 25 years in the AF and when I was asked what kind of shadow box I wanted, I told them not to worry about it, I'd build one myself. Since my wife has put up with a lot more than I have and sacrificed 25 years of her life, I wanted to make something for the both of us. I have all the items off my old uniforms in the shadow box area, but the engraving plate that is going in it is dedicated to her and the kids for their support. I still have to get the glass cut to cover the entire table, but other than that, it's ready for use and display.
It wasn't really that hard to build, but I can say, the AF Emblem inlay was testing my patience, but a good friend of mine from the woodshop talked me into completing it and I'm glad he did, I think it turned out great…thanks Brandon!
I'm glad I built if myself; it means a lot more to the family and plus, it's not something hanging on the wall but something we can use everday!
