Project Information
This bracelet is actually the first one I made but it split when I put it on the jam chuck. I put it aside and made the other one I posted first. Both were the same size. I got to looking at it and decided I would cut it in to and glue it back together so I cut it with the bandsaw. I taped it back together and sawed it a couple of times to get it straight then lightly sanded the edges on my belt sander to even up. Luckily it was thick enough to round out again. I took my OSS and rounded out the inside. I then chucked from the inside and turned the outside. My wife had told me she liked the other one but would rather have a thinner and narrower one. I turned it narrower and reshaped it. I had to use the OSS several times to size it for her arm. If you look real close in the third pic you can see the joint.
Funny thing is I almost threw it away because of the crack and it became the one she liked the best.
I have also repaired one or two bowls with this method. I keep on seeing that I don't need to throw anything away till it's sawdust or shavings. Actually with a little wax and the sawdust you can make an excellent fire starter.
Made from cherry and finished with Capt Eddie's OB Shine Juice.
