Project Information

My favorite tonewood for making a steel string acoustic guitar is walnut. Since most of my playing is finger-styling and backing up my voice, I find that walnut has a warm mellow tone even across the treble strings. Two of these guitars are in walnut. The yellow guitar is of canary wood and has a much brighter tone.

Great job on these guitars. You aught to make a video of you playing them and singing to set them off.

Love the work it's a great looking guitar. Probably sings. What type of bracing did you use? Standard fan? Do you have a single or double top? Great guitars are like fine wine, they get better with age.

Okay…post each guitar individually with better pictures, please. These are too good to be grouped together so anonymously. More, more more!

Beautiful! The personal touches are cool too. I lost my 1967 Martin D 18 and my custom birds eye maple telecaster 11 years ago due to my house got robbed, still get a tear or two. I just got a Epiphone 339 for Christmas and is a lot of fun to play. It has a Nanomag pickup at the base of the neck for acoustic like sounds. I agree with Jay, more pic's of each would be great. Fantastic work and also a super collection too!

Studie, I feel your pain. I have a 1960 Martin D35 and I would cry if I lost it. Kaleb, I use a modified X bracing pattern on the top and ladder bracing on the back. I also use vertical bracing around the sides. The top is a single layer but I have some additional bracing around the sound holes. I would put up some more detailed photos, but I don't still have the guitars, I sold some and gave some to friends and a computer crash ate the photos I did have. I have plans to start another one this winter so I'll try to do some photos all during the process. Thanks for the positive comments everyone.

Excellent work! I don't know why your post didn't make Daily Top 3. It sure is worthy!
