First… I want to say they are beautiful boards. I don't want to be an ass like many others on Lumber jocks with project and things. I am just wondering about putting red cedar in a board. Isn't it a little soft for the cutting abuse it will be getting? Thanks….....

Good job Monte. Most of the people who I have made boards for have told me that they would NEVER use it. When a person gets a board as nice as these, they know that it "really" isnt for use but for show. Also, many of these boards can and will be used as serving/cheese/bread boards. Again, great work and good luck on the show and 2013 !!!

Wow Monte you are really getting ready for your big show.. Very nice cutting boards. I agree your lovely boards will most likely used for serving or display. I like the idea of including a set of display "feet" for all I make for that reason.

You are one of the most versatile woodworkers I know. If it's wood, you have made it! Nice looking CBs. Best of luck at the upcoming show (hope it's indoors).

Nice looking boards. Yes ceder is an unusual wood to use. I think if I was to use it I would use thin strips of it, about 1/2 wide or so between hard woods. But like many people say these boards are seldom used.
I have given all but one board away and I tell people that they are meant to be used. I sold one board that was a special order for a real cook and it was a big one about 18X24 inches. Nothing really special about it other than size. So I am sure that one is being used.
