Project Information

This plaque is made of Monkey Pod. It's a project that no one wants to make. The circular indentation explains how it was made on a table saw without the riving knife. This plaque now hangs in my shop so I know not to make another one. I was saved by standing to the side of the saw so it just scratched my right side. Lesson learned and shared.

Yikes that's a big board - that would have done some real damage had it hit you. I'm glad you're okay and have learned a valuable lesson. Whew - don't know if you believe in angles - but someone was looking out for you.

Been there, but a little over to the left and caught the plaque in my stomach, left a nice 3/4 in shaped bruise from the corner, now I stand a little farther to the right and pay more attention to where my fingers are at all times. Play safe.

OOOO, I have one of these too. Actually I have three of them, from three different saws, and three different user errors (it wasn't the saw's fault.) I learned the third time that I shouldn't be operating a table saw…..

It's part of the reason my table saw stuff is up for sale.

Funny how when you lose your respect for tools, or get a little careless, that they have a way to get your attention again. Glad your OK. Made a few of those back in the days of the cabinetshop. Not sure which is worse, the heavy thick ones that beat you to death, or the piece of 1/4" plywood that slices you like meat! Not much fun either way!

My dear dear Betsy
Angles are here whether we believe or not.
Angels on the other hand may or may not exist. (on earth that is)
