Project Information

Needed something to use to put on shoes. With walnut you can't lose. All the young dudes, carry the news. Boogaloo sh…...oops got a little sidetracked. Anyhow, I stabilized the bark with CA glue, finish is shellac and wax (got a hazy spot I couldn't seem to get rid of and didn't feel like refinishing it just yet.). All the legs are haunched M&T and the hand carved braces are mortised into the legs and top about 3/4 inch deep. Also made the braces out of 2 plys of walnut, though I would use 3 if I did it again due to a bit of warping I got. Added some subtle curves to the legs that are a little hard to notice but sure took long enough! 60 hours or thereabouts, finishing included.
