Project Information

I made this chair with inspiration from several LJ's projects and the plans from Charles Brock. His plans, videos, and patterns were essential.
Mostly it took patience, tools, and a lot of sandpaper. If you attempt this project I would advise you to just go ahead and order all the specialty tools that Mr Brock recommends. I did not think I needed some and got the job done but it would have been easier to do it his way.
Anyhow, after a few hours a day for about 10 weeks it is finished, I will probably make another someday. This one is made from Walnut with a stripe of Alder in the rocker.

I love the lumber in the truck picture, because if you have never done any woodworking it is impossible to visualize the the finished project coming from nothing but a few plain boards of wood. The vision and skill level of the LJ craftsmen here can never be over stated. Simply beautiful.

Nice looking rocker. The walnut on the arms looks great in your 2nd picture.

Sorry I missed this when first posted, I think this rocker looks like the work of a seasoned pro not a first time rocker builder. If you used only the book and CD you must be a fast learner. Looks like enough wood in that pickup for another one. Nice work.
