Project Information
Recently I decided to make a dog bowl / dish. The reason at first was I wanted to try a different style of dovetails. Second, I love my dogs (2 female Jack Russell's), so they need a dish as well.
The size is 475×200 x 120 mm. (for the "inch-people": now you can convert! Lol
It's was made form solid oak (22 mm thickness) and pine (18 mm thickness).
I planed everything by hand flat and square. (I don't have a planer)
Ofcourse, the dovetails are cut by hand as well. (I don't even have a router!,)
I didn't cut dovetails for more than half a year…... when you look very close, there are some imperfections. (I don't even have some mortise chisels)
I finished it with 4 layers of waterbased clear laquer (semi-gloss). Sanding between the coats up to 800 grit.
For the pictures, I left the metal bowls in the dish, because the circles were badly cut with a jigsaw.
Thanks for watching!
