Project Information
Taking inspiration from KnotCurser, I decided to make my own Eeyore. Not having a printer, I plastered a grid over the original and transposed the best I could onto a 12×12 piece of kraft paper. Actually, the paper was bigger, but the image turns out to be almost exactly 12×12(inches, of course).
The frame is Brazillian Cherry with the field being plain ole Luan. Not the best choice, but it sorta matches the rustic look I was aiming for. Overall size is approximately 21" tall by 19" wide. I lapped the corners to get more of a "Donkey looking out the barn window" sort of look. Spray Deft Laquer for a finish. Wow, I really like how this Brazillian Cherry looks with the Laquer. Its not bad to work with either.
Knowing that the pattern would be destroyed in the process, I added a layer for a future template. I also added an additional layer for a duplicate in case it turned out acceptable. This is only my 2nd scrollsaw piece like this, but certainly not my last. It was quite easy, even with the three layers. I REALLY like this cut-once, end up with multiple copies process.
Comments and criticisms welcome as we are all learning here.
