Project Information

The White Purpleheart hutch is made out of Cherry with Birdseye Maple panels with a Purpleheart Bead on the panels. This piece was made for a couple that saw my original purple heart hutch and wanted one that the bottom was closed in on and finished with a hand rubbed oil finish.

Your work is all so meticulously designed and built - I am not the least surprized that people come to you wanting one "just like" another you built.

This is lovely - the contrasts in the wood here are eye-catching in a most pleasant way. I want to run my hands down the door fronts and check out every corner of the interior. I think I am in love :)

The only thing I am not 100% sold on is the handles, but we can not see them too well in your shots, so that might be my mind playing trick on me - are they are asymmetrical rectangles of maple and purpleheart?

A great job. I am nowhere near read to do inset cabinet doors but yours look perfect. I like the handles but not the latches. Other than that it is just a great design and execution.

A beautifully crafted piece. Looking at the doors, the cherry in the rails seems to be quite a different color c/w that in the styles. Vagaries of lighting ?

Thanks everyone so much . This piece was hard and fun. There were a few questions that you guys had that I can answer. The sideways handles that are above the bottom doors are for the pullout tray that extends the top another 12" or so that has breadboard ends. All of the wood I got from a sawyer down the road and all of the cherry was curl (nice stuff!) The handles are birds eye maple with purple heart inlay. The purple heart bead is all applied before gluing up with mitered corners and the dadoed out to accept the panel!!!

Brian yesterday I was at the apple store and pull up lumber jocks and was viewing your project on the retina ipad screen when a crowd started gathering around me to see you stunning work. One customer thought it was part of a gallery for the ipad demo, how cool is that…nice work selling apple products thought i share this experience with you…Blkcherry
