Project Information

This is my version of the T&J Lattice Boom Crane. It's the most time consuming and complicated toy I've built to date. The complications come not from the many pieces required but the lack of detail and sometimes errors in the T&J drawings. Some trial and error was involved but I'm happy with the final product.

The boom is made of purpleheart and most of the body is sapele. I used Morado for the track pieces because it has some interesting character and is hard as rock. There are a few other species for decoration.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jeff, If you think it was hard try the well drilling rig on the truck That is the hardist one of all. I did not find any parts missing , a little short on details but if you look hard enough they are there. when I built it they werent selling the pullyes yet, and I turened all mine, riging the cables was about the hardist thing to do on that plan. You did a great job on it. Hope to see some more of your toys.good luck.

HI Jeff that is an outstanding job. The purple heart boom is great. I might have to copy that. I have the drawings and it is on my list of projects. Where were the errors in the drawings. What should I watch out for? Thanks
