Project Information

I found this design online and liked it so much I made two for Christmas! After glue up and sanding and planing I didn't like how thin the boards were so I attached a cherry backing. Or as my grandmother likes to think, I did this on purpose so they can keep the pretty side up when not using and cut on the ugly side. I used curly maple, cherry, walnut and purple heart (pretty standard woods for a cutting board it seems!)

Merry Christmas!

I like it. The walnut strips are great accents in this board. It reminds me of a stained glass window.

Nicely done, it certainly does have the hint of a craftsman era stained glass.

Very cool - haven't seen any like this and it's a welcome break from the usual checkered type patterns, which I made many of as well this holiday season!

Why didn't you like it? Was it worry that they might fall apart? Just curious. I love the look.

mtkate I just realized I had a spelling error in my writeup. I didn't like how thin the boards were. I didn't think they would fall apart, it was more of a visual thing for me.

Thanks for the comment! I've not heard of Frank Lloyd Wright so I've much to google!
