Project Information
These are just a few new pieces that we created for our show this next weekend. We'll be having professional photos taken of a new curly maple rocker and a couple of scultures that will be posted later in the month. But for now here are a few that we took pictures of.
The first is "Mini Me Twister". Made from Alligator Juniper with a Wenge base and turquoise inlay, this is our smallest twister vessel at 13×11
Second is "Golden Moss" made from Alligator Juniper with a curly maple base, turquoise inlay and Gold Leaf, a first for us. This piece has several coats of finish on it to make it very shiny and add depth to the piece. It makes the gold leaf really stand out.
Third is "Eye Pod". Made from mesquite burl this piece is left natural to show off the grain and the simple design.
Fourth is "Bloom" made from Juniper with turquoise inlay. This small vase shaped vessel has folds and waves and is 10×12.
We have been trying to create and come up with more wall designs besides carved ones. So this piece is log cutoffs in various sizes with gems inlayed ontop of a bed of gold leaf. Several layers of Epoxy Resin are poured over the piece.
The last picture is of a work in progress called "Pierced". As you can see it has a lot of holes in it. Made from mesquite, Scott layed out a vein pattern and started drilling holes. This was quite a process and took a lot longer than expected. But boy is it spectacular. My favorite to date. I will post professional photos of this piece later on. It's sure to wow at the show.
