Project Information

I was spitting wood for my brother (using a wood splitter and on my knees because of my balance) when I cut into a large lodge pole pine log. It burst apart and a small burl shaped like a v went flying past my face. I picked it up and immediately saw the beauty it had locked inside. It was soaked in sap and I had to microwave it twice then return it so that it was completely dry. But it was well worth the trouble. It is beautiful. The base is paduk and was already cut like that. I also saw its immediate beauty and new it was the perfect base! I finished it with plan Minwax Shellack.

Thank you Jamie, thank is very kind of you! I have never had a piece in a gallery before! I am very, very honored. You have not idea.

Unfortunately, I no longer have it…like many of my pieces I gave it away. I gave it to my brother, the one who owned the firewood the piece was born from:).

Hi Nate … isn't wonderful that your mind beholds what your eyes see. But it truly is your creative talent that knows how to brings life to something as beautiful as this eye-catching piece of art! Well done!!

That's a great bowl. The stand really adds to the overall feel of the piece. I also really enjoyed the story with it.
