My wife has 9 goats (amongst many other critters) running around outside in the pasture. Was surfing the web a couple weeks ago when I stumbled across a hay manger something like what you see.
I figured since this weekend was her birthday, why not make her something for the animals.
Made of red cedar 2×4 stock for weathering, plus added some Cabot's spar varnish. (Varnish should also taste bad to the goats and keep them from cribbing).
Lid is 1 sheet of 3×8 roofing tin, wheels are from harbor freight with a piece of 5/8 threadall for an axle. The ribs to manger is simple a piece of economy "hog panel" cut to length and split down the middle.
