Project Information
Well a few of you may or may not have followed the one or two blogs on these... Whilst I can say the are not finished due to they don't have any for of protective coating as of yet, I can say that I have finished because I won't be doing that and the owner of them has not decided himself as of yet what he wants and he is happy enought to to do that himself…
Replacement Speakers blog series
The stands went trough many designs and changes till I decided less is more… including removing the front supports (which were only there for decoration anyway… but became over kill)
There are no tex screws holding them together just glue and dowl. (though I did have temporary screws in the back of the stands which have now been replaced with dowl)
Reading the blog and looking at the state the orginal speakers were in… I don't think I have done that bad of a job. However it is going to be interesting to see what the owner of them decides to do for coating. The story is he and his misses doing huge renovation on this old house the bought and of course don't know the final decor yet.. so he doesn't know what will fit in.
Aqs a side note, the rimu in the stands is recycled from old curtain palmets and the pine is 2nd's from the mill… I think the the expensive part was the glue…
