Project Information
This a blanket chest I made. A very challenging and fun project. It was my first with creating rail and stile panels on the the router table and using my new kreg jig.
The red panels are actually painted to mimic a faux leather finish. The frame is red oak finished with a red elm gel stain (left over from rocking horse project). The inside is lined with cedar t&g. The curved top is made from about 1-1/8" book matched oak strips that were beveled about 15 degrees on one side to keep a tight joint along the outside edges as they went around the arc.
I also decided to have it sit on pedestal feet-just because I liked the look.
Thanks for looking!
