Project Information

The graceful curving strip of bubinga lends an Art Nouveau feel to this board.
I like how this one came out and will make a few more with different woods to see how the contrasts work.

This will be posted on Winefinity, a specialty wine accented website owned by my wife and her sister. They make some really cool pieces and needed some boards to fill out there offering.

Its about 7 1/2" x 17 1/2×1/2" thick with a full round edge.
The closeups show a more accurate view of the colors and the irritating inclusions and gaps. Arghhh!!

Maple,walnut,bubinga and purpleheart.
Coated with Ben-Gay sport creme :)

Thanks for looking,
Andy

Classy board, Andy. Ben-Gay Sport Cream? I've never heard of using that. Does it smell? Does it last? Does it Cure?

So nice Andy. The medium has changed but the message has not. Your eye for line, balance and color is as good as ever. All the same adjectives apply but we substitute "board" for "box".

Your boards are beautiful and creative and will surely be a big success.

Ben Gay? LOL! Can I use this as a back brace? No it's for Art what's his name. :) Looked at the website. Know you are having fun with these boards and they are great accents for the website. If they weren't scrap pieces, could you sell them for what you are asking? Given time and materials?

Thanks everyone for the continued support!
Code:
Doc Savage- I think a person could make a little money using fresh lumber, but they would need to have a system in place to make several of each style. I love to just play around at 5:30 in the morning and finish off the board after I get off work. If we start selling more of these then I will have to suck it up and assembly line a few designs. But for now I like playing with patterns, and color combinations and figuring out how to make an idea work. Thanks<br />
Barb- just my weird humour :)
@ Paul- Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Andy: another great design. If you are like me, it takes longer to design the boards then make them. But there is a sense of accomplishment with designing something so unique, even if the wood is stressed and needs a good rubbing.
