Nice. I want one under my lathe… all I got now are some cheap plastic drawers and a cardboard box (in a vain attempt to catch some shavings… hah, they just go anywhere and everywhere).

No sense is losing good storage space. Nice job rehabing the lathe too.
I have something similar but not nearly as nice. You make me want to upgrade mine.
I just have one big cupboard door that tilts out with shelves inside. The door does have a rack on the outside for holding the cutting tools I'm actively using.

Nice work. I can really appreciate the time that went into fixing up that lathe. I have one just about like it.

Nice set of drawers and great job on the lathe, I have a similar one without the gap bed. Does that lever
operate a Varidrive or a Reeves type pulley? Thank you for sharing.

I love the cabinet, but I am just blown away at the restoration job you did on the lathe. Talk about turning a sow's ear into a silk purse!

Thanks for the comments all. The lathe was a great restore and my son loves it for making pens and Harry Potter wands!

Bluepine38, the lever does control the speed of the lathe. It controls, what I believe, is a called a Reeves Drive. It works great.

the chest is great but the job you did on referbing the lathe is spectacular. Old tools just need a loving user.

I have to agree with Gerry,TheDane my thoughts were exactly the same. I'm in the works of rehabing a Crapsman R.A.S. I got from Craigslist for 5 bucks, Hey the price was right and I always wanted one.

I had a lathe similar to the restored picture. I really enjoyed the before and after pictures. The cabinet blends old and new into a new lease on turning. Enjoy your lathe.
