Project Information

This is a candy dispenser that my dad and I made years ago. It is made out of a 4×4 post of cedar drilled across the side to the other for the ear/candy dispenser to drop into the hole drilled at an extreme angle to meet the cross drilled whole. The ears are circle cut pieces attached to a dowel that has a drilled out center to catch the candy as you turn the ears. Once the whole filled with candy is turned all the way around the candy will then drop into the angle hole and appear out of his mouth. The holder is just a normal quart mason jar with the lid glued to the inside of the head. I love this for christmas gifts and birthdays.

Thanks a lot Jim and woodshaver! When I used to do craft shows I would display it on the table for kids to get a handful of candy just for coming in to look. The adults really liked it. I ended up making so many I made jigs for the assembly and construction so it wouldn't take so long.

Hee hee! Just another thing to add to the HD List.
@Martin: the eyes, brows, tongue and nose you can all find at Hobby Lobby.
The tongue is just a really thin red leather and the brows/mustache is black felt and of course the jiggly eyes. Good Luck!!!

COOL!

That gives me an idea for a Hershey's Kisses dispenser. Just going to have to create something with a difference orifice! ;^)
