Project Information

As I have said in one of my other posts, I find building models very relaxing and a nice change from other projects. I built this Sanfran cable car in the summer of 2007. I really like streetcars and have lots of pics of them so i drew up the plans for this one and built it. Its made using walnut and maple, the wheels i buy from a supplier. The track I make. The project took about 2 months to complete. I used a oil based varnish and used a biel buffing system to finish it, with models you have to finish the pieces before you glue them together, they are too fragile and also its not really possible to put a finish on when its all together, there are just too many little pieces sticking out.

The piece is gorgeous. I admire your patience and perseverance. Two months on a single project and dealing with such tiny parts speaks volumes for your patience and craftmanship.

Thanks for sharing.

That's a beautiful model. It must have taken a lot of patience to build that. Great work.
