Shop Type: Basement

Square Footage: Not enough what ever it is. 7metres x 4metres. I not sure what that is in feet.

I am not rich and don't have a big fancy work shop like you see on a lot of youtube video's. They have all the big power tools and nice flat area, most are big open space heaps of room to move. I on the other hand have a, well, I work out of a basement under 96 year old house on a hill. I have only just been able to get part of it leveled and concreted…

I have to work around house piles which can make things interesting and fun at the same time, and sometimes damn annoying. Everything is a work in progress, but i can get things done.

Power tools (more power…)

Saws

Sanders

Drills

Other

Air*

I have all the usual hand tools, like hammers, screw drivers, spanners and socket sets, chisels and saws and not enough clamps.

I see what you mean about the poles. Still looks like a good place to work.

Looks like you have made great use of the space you have. One of the fun parts of this hobby is adapting to what you have available. Thanks for sharing it.

The type of workshop is not important. The main thing is how you feel in your shop. Congrats for having set up one of your own. Seeing the firewood in the background, I hope you're a wood turner, or one to become!

Best,

Serge

Just looked at your blog site and I had to laugh, when I bought this house the garage had one small bulb light and one 110 outlet. It will just take time and money but soon you'll have plugs and light everywhere. You have a good start there. Heres a good comparison for you, I have a wood burning fireplace that I cant use because it causes pollution on low pressure days. First fine is 50 bucks. But i can BBQ 365 days a year.

The place has the Coal range, is on wet back so during the winter it heating our hot water, as well as cooking tea, and boiling the jug and keep me warm… all for a bucket of coal lol… also have open fire place in office spare room and heat pump in lounge. Its only a small place… bout 80 Square metres… err feet pass… lol

Nice little shop. Even if you had a thousand square meters, you would soon run out of space. We all do. Look at it this way, at least you don't have to go far or sweep the floor at the end of the day.
