Project Information

The first pic is the crown. ( it will ship loose)
The second is the chair rail that I still need to glue for length and attach to the center rail.
The third is some of the curved panel mould.

Below is a couple of shots of the chair rail glue up.

What can I say other than WOW. Gorgeous seems inadequate when describing these moldings.

I am really looking forward to seeing the final pictures. If the individual elements look this fantastic I simply cannot visualize the final product.

Is the molding glued up solid wood and then cut to the curve and then routed. I assume they are not bent laminations.

Yes. Most of the lumber is 8/4 thick - glued up for width- cut and shaped and stacked with other profiles.
The crown is 6" wide which required stacking 5 layers - - all with different inside radius's and profiles.

Hey woodwkr
A nice group of work very impressive. Is your moulding made on a pattern with the curve in it and then run through a shaper? I was wondering what the band was for on your crown . I was also wondering if this is a five piece moulding how you were able to get such nice transition from one piece to another. I also wondered How you get such great miters on irregular shapes. Sorry for so many questions
But I'm just a beginner compared to you.
