Project Information

Hello everyone, today I'm posting another in a series of boxes that just remind me so much of cheese cake, strange I know. This one made from B.E. Maple ,Tiger Maple , Mohagany spline and accent stripes. Finish with Danish oil and French polish. To open a bit of downward pressure on the hinge side of the lid allows the lid to spring open, thanks for viewing and to all Happy Holidays…BC

Yum, I'm hungry.
That is seriously nice.

Please do a blog on your finishing technique sometime. I could really use some help, and you seem to be able to get these fantastic results.

Merry Christmas Wilson,
Steve

I'd say, "I'll have a slice." but who would want to cut that beauty. Well done Wilson.

Very very nice box. Having recently made a box, I am itching to make more. Is box making contagious?

Another nice one. Those splines really add to the sweep of the sides.

Wow!! The combo of Birds Eye and Tiger Maple are outstanding and the accents really set it off. I made my first two boxes for Christmas Presents and cant wait until I can make another.

Thanks for sharing

Superb work! You are truly an artist! Would you please share how you were able to get the contrasting strips in the top? Did you just stack the parts on the band saw and have at a gentle arc or did you do some router work with a flush trim bit and a template?

I really like how you integrated the top into the box with the dowel - it has a very clean look to it.

Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!
