Project Information

Ribbed Box, Walnut and Curly Maple. Lining for box and tray is Faux Suede covered Cork
Finish is Satin Wipe-On Poly

Art-Deco inspired small Jewelry Box. Andy posted this magnificent box http://lumberjocks.com/projects/43655 about a year ago and it got me thinking and looking at Deco design and this is what I distilled from the research. I plan to explore and experiment this style more.

Another winner. You really have this "design" thing figured out.

This is a beauty.. I love it. I've become a boxaholic at heart, I'm just busy building a woodworker's workbench right now, then I'll get back to boxes… so much wood, so little time.

wkndwrnch,

The ribs were machined on the router table with an Incra fence which made even spacing simple. I found that a spiral downcut bit worked great making smooth crisp cuts, an upcut bit really made a mess on test cuts. I had not really appreciated the difference in the bits until this project (gotta love practical knowledge).
