Hello Jiri;
--in-deed great 'wood art'!
....and I also love the use of 'apple wood' that you have gathered. So I see that you are from the Czech republic of Luzna, do you have excess to apple wood//or apple trunks there? I myself use apple wood//trunks often when I find them as diseased….they make great forms of what I call 'free form' sculpture. I might add that I like the use of the linseed finish….can you tell the height of the carving and base diameter?

You chainsaw capabilities are very resourceful and creative in the carving of this project….and the figure that you have found within the apple trunk is 'a rustic being of timeless beauty to behold'. I guess one might say add one more to the spiritworld of woodspirits…..

Great chainsaw there also….the Husqvarna.

Thank you for sharing this one with us here at LJ….
GODSPEED,
Frank

This is really nice work. I have always admired anyone who can use a chain saw to produce wood art. It is something that is both beyond my abilities and imagination.

Thanks for sharing.

The amazing thing about this piece to me is that, even though it is not a human form, the thing REALLY looks alive!

Hw cool is that.. I always loved chain saws as a kid. The raw destructive power of razors on a spinning chain. How you can turn that into a surgeon's scalpel and create art is just wonderful.

Thanks for showing woodspirit Jiri. We love him. I'm sure it'll be a long time before he goes totally to pieces!
