Project Information

Made this as my master's piece for my wife in 1988. Involves every aspect of furniture making I could do: outlined dovetails (ebony stripping), inlay (ivory, holly wood), book-matched and curved doors, both sets drawers along front (all one piece), drawers above curved from one piece, carving of wife's name, date, maker, etc. on back, French polish finish, and, of course, dovetailed drawer boxes. Approx. 42×42 x 18 inches. Collection of the Artist.

I'm one of the LJ's "Oooohing" and "Aaaaahing"!

Lovely lines and beautiful wood. I like the sleekness of the legs and the proportions, as I love modern or simple lined furniture. Very elegant piece.

I reeeeeeally dig this desk, mon ami. I would love to build one for the missus but alas… she enjoys more ornamentation. Something with cabrioles. Anyway, this is one sweet desk. Lovely build.

always,
J.C.

Wow. I've wanted to build a small desk like this one for a while. Hope I get the chance to. I'm sure your wife is extrememly grateful and proud. Nice work.
