Project Information
Its hard to believe my grand-daughter is 20 months old this week. It seems it wasn't long ago that she was just born. When my wife and I visited my son 2 weeks ago, my daughter-in-law asked me if I could build a learning tower for my grand-daughter. I have never heard of a learning tower before. She gave me a plan of one that she found on the internet. It looks like a high chair with no seat and is supposed to bring a toddler up to the counter level so she/he can participate in activities at the kitchen counter safely. It doesn't seem difficult to build and it took me one day of construction and one day of spray-painting it.
My grand-daughter came visited us this past weekend and I happened to finish construction of the learning tower. You can see she is having a great time in it before I have a chance to paint it. The tower is made of solid aspen with a plywood platform which is adjustable to different heights, and spray-painted white.
BTW, this learning tower is also called kitchen helper which is foldable. I decided to make it non-foldable so it is more sturdy and safe. Thanks for looking!
