The board looks great Mike! The thumb, ummm, not so much.

Now at least you can truthfully say that there is a little bit of you in every meal made on that cutting board!

Nice cutting Board!! But OUCH!!!!! I bet that really smarted. This reminds me of a Bamboo cutting board I gave to my wife. I didnt make the cutting board but bought is and shee got so excited using it one day she took the tip of her finger with a knife cutting potatoes. After Vascular surgery they saved it only for her to do it again about 6 months later. Now I make her wear a diamond glove when she gets to cutting away as I am tired of supporting the doctors family with her cooking LOL

You are now an offical CB member. The CB is beautiful, I like the wood combo. I have never used cherry in my CB's. I will be going out next week and will definately buy some cherry. What tool did the damage? I have come close a few times with the table saw, but since buying the "Micro Jig Advanced GRR-Ripper System" I can cut without putting my hands in danger.

Great looking CB, should get lots of use and last a long time. The cherry/walnut combo is one of my favorites.

Sorry about your accident… ever notice how quickly blood rusts a table saw?

Mike, that certainly is a good looking cutter and let me also welcome you to the club. Man, I hate to see pictures like this one of your thumb but I am so glad that it was not any worse.

Nice Board!

That right there is the reason my flesh is never within 6 inches of the blade. Push sticks, push blocks, featherboards, even with a blade guard I treat those puppies like the razor sharp spinning blades they are! Glad you weren't too badly injured, thumbs are important!
