Project Information

A couple of years ago we lost a great neighbor and my wife's best friend, Julie, too early (53) to Multiple Myeloma. Julie and my wife spent many hours together raising our kids and enjoying the outdoors. Julie was about 15 years older than my wife so she was also a teacher, mentor, and confidant.

One of the things we always remember was the year she planted several red bud trees in her front yard. They took forever to take and start growing, but when they did they became very healthy trees. This year Julie's husband decided to widen their driveway to make room for the boat. This meant that one of Julie's red buds needed to be removed so I asked if I could have the tree. It is finally dry enough to turn, and this is the first project that I made from it. This one is for my wife, but I hope to turn similar items for Julie's family and her sisters.

Thanks for looking.

That is a nice turning and wonderful way to memorialize your friend. I am sure her family will be greatly appreciative of anything you make from her tree.
