1000 days of LumberJock SawDust!
There are days when I cannot believe that I am a Woodworker! I never imagined that I…A wife of 17 years, a Mother of 3, a full time Caregiver to my daughter with Epilepsy would've found a hobby that I enjoy so very much…a hobby that has now become a small (tiny) new business! Woodworking has opened a whole new world to me. A world where I can confidently say…"I CAN DO THAT!" But then invariably, some unexpected challenge occurs mid-project and I say…"I can't do this!" That's when I turn to a woodworker's best friend…LumberJocks!
Today, I celebrate my 1000th day of LumberJock membership. 1000 days of sharing my woodworking interest with like minded people. 1000 days of learning from some of the most knowledgeable woodworkers I've ever known. 1000 days of project inspiration, woodworking camaraderie, and workshop envy! And LumberJocks actually got me my first online sale! The Customer Googled, saw my LumberJocks Project, Tracked down my Facebook and E-mailed me from there! A Determined Customer for Sure…but without LumberJocks I wouldn't have made the sale!
In 1000 days I have seen LumberJocks change dramatically yet one thing that stays unchanged is the attitude of the members. I have seen very little of the nasty one upping, or mean spiritedness that tends to infect other "Online Communities" instead I am constantly surprised by how many kind, thoughtful, and helpful suggestions I receive when I post a project or blog. I hope that I contribute to the kindness of the site…while letting other "real" woodworkers contribute their expertise.
To all those who have helped me these past 1000 days I sincerely say Thank You!!! I especially want to thank Martin who had the Wild LumberJock Dream. I am so proud to be a LumberJock.
