Project Information
This was a different type of project for me as I had never done any small, artistic style of painting before, so I had no idea how the owls were going to turn out. I am not an artistic painter, but after continuous glancing at the photo of the owls and trying to re-create the same on wood with paint, I somehow managed to come up with this end result. The owls, by the way, were made intarsia style, with all the pieces cut out, shaped, sanded, glued back together and painted. The tree was cut from aromatic cedar. The nest was filled with wooden twigs with artificial moss hot glued into place to ensure lasting durability. I gave this item to my daughter-in-law as a gift, because I had made the wooden seaplane plaque for my son, and didn't want her to feel left out, but it was given with love and that's what counts.
