Log Cabin License Plate Birdhouse

I wish I could take credit for building this. It was a gift from my father in law a couple of years ago as a Christmas present. The roof is the front plate off of my truck, the last of the Texas plates since I moved to Washington. He even made the chimney. It is technically a birdhouse but I couldn’t imagine putting it outside (too nice).

Outdoor Storage Chest

This is my first woodworking project in years. Trying to get back in the swing of things with limited space (no room for a table saw). This was constructed almost entirely of pocket hole (Kreg) joinery on 1×4’s. I wanted to keep it a light as possible. Used a pre-stain conditioner on pine then a dark walnut stain. Since it is going to be outside I added Minwax’s Outdoor Clearshield. Looking for suggestions on a handle or knob to make opening it a little easier.
