Farm Bed with Storage, Queen

I modeled this farm bed after a design I found on Ana White’s website. I made some modifications to eliminate the pocket hole joinery. I’m not a hater of pocket holes; they just seemed inadequate for this project.

I did finish the bed, but I never got around to the night stand.

Minwax red oak stain. I applied the same color to the drawer carcass and drawer fronts as well.

I applied several coats of polyeurethane diluted to a “rub on” consistency. Then, finally, installed in the spare bedroom.

That is a handsome looking bed. Nice details in the headboard. Great storage.

Thanks for the compliment. Your screen name slayed me.

PreacherBrian, I still have the sketchup files with all the measurements if you’re interested, though I don’t know how (or if they allow) posting sketchup files here.
