I don’t use my bandsaw enough to justify leaving it out in my work zone all the time, so I just wheel it over into a corner and out of the way until I need it. SC included a real nice light with the bandsaw, but they didn’t think to add a plug on the saw to plug it in. It became a cumbersome process to pull the saw out and find an outlet with two vacant plugs. I found this grill light at Target for $19.95 that is battery powered with bright LEDs, a magnetic base, and goose neck. It puts a concentrated light on the table and really brightens everything up.

That is a good idea. Relatively inexpensive. I’ll bet the LEDs don’t use much battery, either.

how do you like that bandsaw. if i make any big machinery purchases in the future im thinking about either Powermatic, Jet, or SC (because i heard that they are very good). so i just want to see from someone who has experience with SC how good their machinery is.

I put batteries in it the latter part of December and its still going strong. I think it uses 2 or 4 “AA”, I can’t remember exactly.
I love this saw. I had a 3/4 HP Jet 14” with no complaints, but I wanted a quick release, roller guides, and more horse power. I originally decided on the Powermatic, but after looking at them side by side, the SC had all the same features for $200 less. I am sold on SC. The saw came out of the box dead on and the book was written by someone who knows the english language.

Really good idea! I bet the LED’s are more impact resistant than an incandescent bulb, too.
