Location: Kentucky Bluegrass Region
Website:
Retired, woodworker, dry stone mason, gardener. My better half is a wood carver, gardener, and fellow stone mason. Check out www.drystone.org
Dottie and I have partnered on 30 years of renovating houses in Chicago area, where our workshop was in unheated garages (sometimes 10 below) and LITTLE basements, where we had to start outside to rip an 8 foot board. Spent too much time tearing out walls, replacing plumbing and wiring to get into "serious" woodcraft. Her favorite birthday present was an Old Milwaukee Sawzall. When we retired to the Bluegrass, one prime requirement was a big basement.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Thanks, fellas. Me and the missus tend toward craftsman style stuff, although our house is a “spec” house. We’ve started to “renovate” by replacing the painted wood fireplace mantle with a red oak mantle, for which the missus carved oak leaf clusters. Summertime we build stone retaining walls across the back yard, which will hold terrace planting beds. Wintertime it’s Morris chairs and a rocker for the missus.
