« Part 6: At the show Part 7 of PortablePastimes series Part 8: Our first outdoor show »

Well we took the full plunge, we have registered Portable Pastimes as a business. Thanks everyone for your answers to my questions regarding the types of businesses.

We are celebrating by working on our first wholesale order. We will putting some custom made items in a local gift shop. I will post some more about it as we progress. I currently have a large pile of blank wood pieces that need printing and then hole drilling should be some where around 1400 holes for this order. Right now very excited about it, we’ll see if that lasts through all of those holes :)

Hi Chris, it sure looks like you have been busy. The pens and other turnings look great. I did purchase some laminated blanks that were on sale and of course the slimline guts. But, have focused mostly on using scrap corian with the kids. Used up most of the colors, now have a lot of “off white” cutoffs to use. They actually turn out looking rather good. One day will photograph and post again.

Did get the new job, so lost a lot of turning time.

cheers, johnl

Thanks All.

John Congrats on the new job. Sorry you lost some shop time though. Look forward to seeing what the kids have turned.

I hope you sell as much as you can physically make.
