Well I have returned from the the lovely Maryland State Fair Ground’s ” Cow Palace” where the Woodworking Show was held this year. Sounds like a strange place but it was a good time. I got to catch up to a number of LumberJocks and enjoyed meeting new folks and those I have caught up to before.
The seminars that I saw were not bad and had some nice pieces of advise and tricks. Some of the seminars could use some new material I believe as a few of them are the same thing from years in a row. In speaking with a number of people at the show it does sound like this might be something that will change with the new ownership.
The vendors on the floor as always had plenty of knowledge and products available. I did spend a bit more then I usually do but I think it was worth it.

I have had my eye on a Kreg Benchtop Router Table for quite a while now but really have not had the money to spend to imagine my surprise when I found them at the show for almost $100 off. I was able to grab one before they all walked out the door.

I bought a number of other smaller items including some old tools from PATINA which had a booth set up there. I am also thinking about joining the group as they do not meet far from my home. I think it might be a fun extension of the woodworking hobby.

All in all a good show and I will be looking forward to next year’s show and seeing what new stuff they have in store with the new owners on board.

Sorry i missed ya there. I was only able to go Friday and spent most of the time looking at the tools Patina had and watching Paul Sellers. Picked up a couple little gems from Patina myself and thinking about joining too. I certainly wanted to spend a lot more but if you don’t got it ya cant spend it. lol
Looks like ya got quite a few new toys to have fun with. If ya ever need help playing just give me a call. lol

Was Chuck Bender there. He’s had a booth the last couple of years.

Chris – Great seeing you there, as you know we also had a great time. Lathe is set up on a temporary stand, working on the dust collection today. Both kids turned mini cups, and are having a great time. I had them stop when friends came over to watch the game, and they were not happy. Once the older one gets more time and experience, will give him permission, but until then they only operate the equipment under adult (or at least my) supervision.

cheers!

Went sunday, had a great time. Wife and baby kept me from filling up the car with goodies.
