IN THE BEGINNING...
My first “real” woodworking project is a Mission-style end table for our living room. My wife and I both like the clean lines and simplistic appearance of mission furniture, so I made a plan using Google Sketch Up and started the project last weekend. I’m using Red Oak and plan to stain it a darker color (Minwax’s Jacobean) so that it matches our coffee table I refinished over the summer. All the pieces have been cut, top biscuit joined and glued, tenons made, some mortising, and some sanding…I hope to have the assembly completed this weekend and begin the finish work.
