These are some things that my Dad has made for us kids. As I’ve said before I have learned ALOT of what I know from him. He and my Grand-Pa have alot to do with me loving woodworking. That even helped me with picking out my job when I joined the Navy. I became a Navy Seabee (construction). Anyways between the two I have learned a great deal.

I had many a summers spent in my Grand-Pa’s Shop in Iowa. Once we moved to Chicago my dad feel away from woodworking. Not having his dads wood shop close by and working for Wal-Mart kinda took up all his time. But you could tell he missed it. So One christmas when I had the money bought him a radial arm saw.

To help get him back into it. Of course I had other motivation…. he could make us kids presents just like his father did for him and his brothers and sister. Kinda get a tradition thing going. Even when I was a little kid wanting G.I. Joes for Christmas I always thought it was awsome that his Dad made him something each year. Sometimes small sometimes huge. Here is just an example I stole from his PBase account where we post pictures.

I cant wait till Im back from Afgahnistan and can put everything together in the shop “garage”. SO that when he visits we can mess around out in the shop. Fond memories for me. When ever I go back home to Chicago we find some reason to go make something for someone.

Please check out the pictures he has taken of some of the things that he has made over the years. Not everything but a nice little bit.

I told him about Lumberjocks, Now I want to put some of his things out there for you all to enjoy.

Thank you for your comments. I guess we all have been influenced by someone in our woodworking life.
For many of us it was our Dad. I always enjoy hearing of someone else’s journey. Thanks for sharing.

Come home safe and soon so we can see your own projects.
