Hello all ... I just moved from Colorado to Arkansas and I am really looking for a community to lean on as I try to jump into woodworking as a hobby. I am a rookie .. as rookie as they probably get for sure.

The good news is we just bought a home in the area and I have been blessed with a detached workshop/garage area, along with a couple of nice tools. I am not proud of how inexperienced I am when it comes to all of this stuff, and I will try to do as much research as I can before asking questions .. but bear with me as I get acclimated and make mistakes.

Any and all advice is appreciated. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome to Ljs a world wide community were there are great people, super projects and great woodworkers.Enjoy !
Because I often get asked questions by new members I’ve included the answers to the most( FAQ) along with my welcoming message to LJs.
You should know that posting questions or projects here (your profile page) will not get you very many responses’ just because it’s your profile page not part of a main forum. To post in a main forum read below.
Want to know how to post something?
See the drop-down box underneath my Lumberjocks in the upper right hand corner. Click on the arrow and select which type of posting you want to make (Project, Blog entry, Forum topic). This will take you to the appropriate page and you just fill in the form.
Sending Private messages(PMs) to other members
Click on the word” home” next to the profile picture of the member you want to contact ,then click on “send message”
Need help with posting or other questions ?
Ms DebbieP AKA Debbie Pribele (Ljs community manager)
Just for the record even though I have a large number of post I’m not involved with LJs management ,I’m just another member.

Welcome! Ask away. There are plenty of people on here that are willing to help with any question you have. Before you pose a new question, it might be worth doing a search for similar questions from the past. You’ll get a lot of grief if you ask what table saw you should buy :)
This is a great site and you’ll meet some excellent people here. FYI the site usually has a top 15 projects listed on the front page, but they’ve been having some tech problems as of late. Post your stuff and see if you make it to the top 3! Enjoy your time here.

Welcome to Lumberjocks…..Ask away is right! Great woodworkers on here. You will be amazed how much help you can get here. People are the best on this site. We were all rookie’s at one time, with your great attitude you will do fine. Take alot of photos and notes of your projects and start a album, you will be amazed how you grow through the years…. Enjoy!
