I am a simple man who may be cheating on his wife...Yes, you guessed it, I have a love affair with wood. Sometimes, I sit up at night thinking of new things to create. But what's more important, is how this affair started....Way back in high school, that is. Then for some reason, after graduation, I went into the medical profession. After about 10 years of having enough of that, I returned to wood. About 5 years ago I started working for a general contractor, who, at the time, was doing a lot of cabinetry and finish work. As we grew, and took on larger projects (which led us to build a $1 million + spec home) I did mostly framing. I really liked it a lot, but as time went on, I realized where I belonged. I found myself cutting beams and post (and all rough framing) to within 1/16th of an inch. Sometimes, the timber would fit so snug, I would say "looks like it grew there :)". As the completion was coming to an end on the spec home, my boss wanted to save some money on the cabinetry. So we set up shop in the new garage, and I went to town. My first big project, I basically did alone, covered the kitchen, huge pantry, laundry room and all four baths. After that, I just new what my calling was. Since then, I have been doing custom cabinetry. Lately, I've been building cutting boards (which started as Christmas presents) and I have been really enjoying it a lot and LEARNING more and more about the characteristics of wood. My goal is, someday, to be building custom furniture and the likes.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
