The sawyer has come and gone, and did a wondreful job,now my work starts.I built two drying racks to handle the 1400 BF of planks. The first rack was made from 2×6 and 2×8 stock I had,the second rack was built with 4×4 stock I picked up at one of the box store.I made two removable roofs from 2×3’s and corrugated metal.I then cut 3/4” stickers to use between the planks. I didn’t think I’d ever finish cutting stickers. stacked the wood, and painted the ends and I was done. Now I need to find some cloth to wrap around the stack to keep it dry, or as dry as possible.
Here are a few photos of what is done so far.
Thanks for looken.

Hey Charlie, that is looking REAL good, you did a PRO job there! Looks a lot better than my stacks. Say, why don’t you come and visit, I need a few more racks…

I would leave the sides open, so you get some airflow.

Now, what you gonna do while waiting a year or two for this lot to dry?

Div, thanks, Maybe I should vist I’ll have plenty of time while I wait for this lot to dry. LOL, but I guess I’ll just have to pay the price for dry wood.

Grizzman, about 70 percent red oak, and 15 percent each ash, and maple. These two racks of wood should be enough to last me at least two years or long enough to heal up from this venture, which ever comes first LOL.
