Nothing much to say about my shop…a wall mounted bench, a 70’s Radial Arm Saw, and a shop built cabinet…
Note the electrolysis bath taking up space in front of the RAS…and yes, I’m aware that my plane storage is sub-par, but after I get a proper bench built (comming soon), tool storage will be high on my to do list!

Ha! Sub-par plane storage is my specialty… At least yours have a shelf :-)

So, what do you have in mind?

One of the first things that I did was fork out some coin for a new circuit and many new outlets. Also, I see that you have a couple incandescent bulbs. I had cheap, humming, cold dim fluorescents. You know the kind that gives your skin a greenish hue like a cadaver. I switched those out for T-8 ballasts with four warmer lights (6500 K?). That made a world of difference.

Thanks guys – yeah, I kinda forgot that rack was in there…dad took that deer in 08 and gave me the rack. That same year I managed to take a 160 class whitetail. Mine is mounted and in the house, while dads deer is stuck in the shop.

Scott – I have terrible lighting in there…that is really what I want to improve first. Even after the bulbs warm up its still quite dark. I’m using a “chicken light”, a clamp on heat lamp when I work. It is better than nothing, but still sucks!

My REAL rack is in the house…couldnt find a pic on my computer of me with the deer to show scale, but:

Someday I’ll have a shop thats worthy of hanging him in…164 inches of antler on that stud…

Jason, next time your are in Lowes check out some of there fluorescent ballasts. I used to hate floured cent light but for the amount light you get it is hard to beat them. Plus with the warmer color bulbs the are great.

The ones I got are the 4 bulb, flush mount with the T8 bulbs. Installation was easy. They are a bit pricy though at about $60.

Thanks Scott – I’ll check into that! And thanks everyone for the rack comments…my wife usually is the one who gets that comment, but finally I can compete!

Smit – Perhaps there is vision, but its awfully blurry! Once I get a proper workbench and some nice tool storage built, the vision should clear a bit..

That’s not a bad looking workshop at all. It has a lot of potential and it sounds like you are going to roll your sleeves up and get going. My workshop is a wreck right now.
