I have made the move. So far two loads of “Stuff” 2800 miles across the country. This week-end I had time to check out TOOLS in this part of country. REALLY wondering why I dragged my OLD stuff this far…...(Maybe because I can !)
I found 3 old craftsman table saws and a jointer on kijiji.
1st table saw $50.
(Said he borrowed it to brother in-law and it came home without fence, pulley or belt.) Motor runs.
Second old goldie $25….the old couple were moving into retirement home ! Motor runs, missing belt.
3rd table saw $30…...the fella’s shed fell over and this was outside ! I cleaned surface rust off, took extensions off, motor runs, missing 1 pulley.
The jointer was from fella moving, had no room where he was going, surface rust, plugged motor in it runs well. While cleaning it I realized this jointer has 4 blades . They were sharp ! His story is he worked with fella at NAIT, the guy gave him this jointer several years ago, MY COST $40.
Why you ask did I buy 3 more table saws ? Does word “Hoarder ?????”
When I moved I left 2 saws back EAST.
AND for a total cost of $95. I can leave stacked dado set in one, moulding head in other and still have one to cut random lumber.
Chances are IF I would have left everything back EAST in storage I would never find replacements ! LAW of AVERAGE.

finding what you want when you want it is always the challenge. Its much easier to find the stuff when you don’t really need it. Its best to buy it while you can.

Don, that is what I thought when I took them. Has anyone ever used TS as furniture in “Mancave” ?
TV on one saw, microwave on other, third with extensions…...large dining table….....oooo…ooo…its all coming together, I am having a vision…!
Might be where I live WHEN my wife moves out here in 2013 !
(She is a great Lady, I am not concerned, just teasing her !) She reads my posts.

Great finds! I get almost all of my tools at auctions, and yard sales. If you can find a better price, then go with it!
Great job!

KOVA. Thanks. I do not have new workshop YET. The job I came for is starting Sept 1. No conformation on ME getting it yet. Only one other person applied. 50% chance for me…...When I do get job a person has a building 28ft x 32ft, insulated, floor heat (my kind of heat), 1/2 of the building is used as bachelor living quarters, other 1/2 he stored his boat in for COLD months. FINGERS crossed !
