Well we finally arrived. As some of you know I moved back to Alberta Canada. Packed the truck, packed the trailer and we were off. 2 hours later I was sitting at the transmission shop waiting for answers WHY the tranny got HOT. The guy put it on the hoist, a lever fell off, causung shifting to be radical, causing clutches INSIDE to wear, . 2 days later I was back on the road. (While sitting at shop I realized tires are poor on trailer and rear truck. Bought new ones to be safe.) Everything checked out and I was on the road again. 2 hours later tranny light comes on. Called the guy, he didn’t know, Do I go back or do I contniue on ! I had family reunion to go to in 7 days. This was a 4 day drive if everything went WELL . So we started off in 2nd gear and drove ALL day. Nothing got hot, not lights. Down side is we travelled for 5 days at 70-80 kms per hour.(45 -50mph). I got to SEE alot of scenery at that pace.
ONLY 5 people TOOTED horns to get the “h “off the road ! Almost passed a tourist driving RV ! I stayed behind them and travelled together.
If anyone is familiar with Manitoba…..Manitoba has large bugs that mess up the windshield. At the speed I was going this did not happen, the bugs had TIME to fly away. BONUS !
I have brother in Sask, sister in ALberta so showers were on the way.
15 miles from destination my old Dodge gave a LOUD backfire and I coasted to side of highway. OF course NO CELL service. After 15 cars went by and 3/4 hour later a kind man stopped and let me use his phone for help. We got towed into dealership. All it was was the coil, the backfire also blew the exhaust apart. Finally I arrived 1 day before reunion started…...........Got my cell phone fixed….have service NOW . Parked trailer with tools and clothes in brother-in-laws yard.
Just waiting for the job to start !
