Just came home from another sale tonight. Lots of trinkets (4 hours worth) Lots of tools.(The man had a stroke and sold everything) I think I may own a router that runs well when bit is facing down, it really squeels when I tip it upside down. OH well wasted $15. The 1 1/2 hp router with 1/2” collet seems to run well. I now have a router for the 1/2” shank bits that I bought on sale 3 months ago ! Its like I knew ONE day I would have a modern router ! lol. Most of his corded tools didn’t even get a bid on. Yes they were older, but for few dollars try them ? Table saw was decent price, it had beismeyer fence, whoever bought the saw only paid 1/3 price of the fence ! 4 pipe clamps for $5. It was long evening, I enjoyed it.
UPDATE on router: Took it apart, bearing okay, bushing at top end DRYER than popcorn Fa.. Went to small motor repair guy. He looked at it, suggested OILING the bushing. These routers have oil hole at top to keep bushing moist. When they are clamped UPSIDE down the oil does not get to bushing properly.I am guessing taking out of table and running it like normal position will help. Learn something everyday ! (Even at this age)
Took it home, light oil in hole, it runs nice and quiet now .
