I completed my first log chair last fall. I set it on my deck this spring (Crude piece of my work I thought) and have had many people FALL IN LOVE with it. Want to buy one. Can I make them one, etc, etc. I ahnd cut the pieces without any use of power tools. YES ME ! I dug out my vintage hand tool collection and started playing. The tools needed sharpening, I can do that, I enjoyed the challenge of my first chair. I spent a LOT of hours on this one. Do the people really know how many ? NO. Would they be willing to pay me what I was worth. NO ! I really enjoy MAKING things…. I hate SELLING things ! This week I built a log dowel maker using parts I had in my shop. I viewed a NAME BRAND on video. Looked like it worked well. ME, being to cheap to pay money for this , I made my own, I think I can cut my chair building time into a quarter of the time it took for the first one. BUT do I want to sell these ? Is it still fun if I HAVE to do this ? P.S. The one in the video is WORTH the money ! (I like challenges in making my own things for my own use)
